How to Make Capirotada?

Capirotada is nothing but a Mexican Bread Pudding. It is a super easy traditional recipe to make in-home during a holiday.

Ingredients for Capirotada

Water7 Cups
Bolillo Breads4
Piloncillo5
Cloves4
Cinamon1
OrangePeel of an Orange
Peanuts1 cup
Prunes1 ½ cup
Raisins½ cup
Queso Fresco1 pack
Butter4 Table Spoon

Steps to Make Capirotada

Below are the steps to make Capirotada Recipe:

Step 1:

Set Your Burner on a medium Low Heat. Place the pot filled with water.

Step 2:

Once the water starts to boil, add piloncillo, orange zest, cloves, and cinnamon.

Step 3:

Cover the pot with a lid and leave a little gap. Continue to cook on medium-low heat. Cook for about 20 minutes to 25 minutes.

Step 5:

Cut each Bolillo bread into 4 equal parts. Place them on a baking dish.

Step 6:

Set the oven to 400 Degrees. Continue to bake for 16 minutes.

Step 7:

Turn the bread slices to the other side. Continue to bake for another 16 minutes.

Step 8:

When the syrup and toast are ready, it’s time to assemble them together.

Step 9:

Butter the baking dish. Place toast on the baking dish. Start soaking the bread with the syrup.

Step 10:

Start layering with a piece of Fresco. Crumble them over the top of the toast. Then sprinkle resins and prunes. Prunes add a sweet flavor to the capirotada.

Step 11:

Finally, sprinkle roasted peanuts.

Step 12:

Start pouring some more syrup over the layer.

Step 13:

Set the temperature of the oven to 380 degrees and place the capirotada for 20 to 25 minutes.

Step 14:

Take a glass and pour a little syrup. Scoop out capirotada and place it in the glass. Add a little bit of syrup over the top. Add some fresh cream at last.
